Install and Activate Plugin

You need to install and activate the ‘Reaction Buttons’ plugin. Once this plugin is installed, activate this plugin. Plugin can be configured by going to settings » Reaction Buttons. First option which you must check is ‘Show Reaction Buttons’, if this option is unchecked reaction buttons will not be served to readers despite this plugin being active.

Position of the Buttons

Next configuration option allows you to choose position for the reaction buttons. The default position for buttons is below the post. But, if you need the buttons to appear in a particular position then you can surely do it. You can choose either to make these buttons appear before post, after post or at a custom position using the short code.

Customization

You can customize the text that appears with these buttons. You can ask user a question like did you liked this post? This is followed by buttons.

The text for these buttons can be customized too. The default text is Awesome, Interesting, Useful, Boring and Sucks. You can also decide which pages and categories you wish to exclude, put a restriction of one vote per visitor and other changes.

Appearance

The reaction buttons have a standard colour and appearance. But, it might not suit your website’s color theme. So if you wish to make changes to it you can. For this you have to disable the default CSS of the plugin. Click on link reaction_buttons.css and download the CSS file that the plugin is using. Simply modify this CSS file and include in your theme’s CSS or Child Theme. This is about it. Quite simple isn’t it?
